Flower arrangements are such a great way to add some cheer to your home. One of my friends, who is a florist, put together this arrangement for me and I couldn’t be more obsessed! Make sure to check out her other work here. I’m not nearly this talented when it comes to arranging flowers but I can definitely appreciate the end result. I have to admit, I’m more of a cut off the ends of the flowers, stick them in a vase, and call it a day kind of person. My first (and only) experience creating nice flower arrangements was for my aunt’s wedding several years ago. So between that and watching my friend put together this beautiful arrangement, I did pick up a few tips that I’m going to have to try out myself.
A good place to start is by deciding on a color scheme that works well together, for a sense of cohesiveness. You’ll notice that in this flower arrangement is the use of foliage in an asymmetrical arrangement, at varying heights. This makes for a great base for the start of the bouquet. And then the flowers are cut at varied lengths as well, with the stems crossing one another to hold the flowers in place. And my favorite detail is the final addition of the smaller flowers and leaves, which not only fills in any gaps, but also adds a whimsical feel to the bouquet.
